Markusovce Castle

As an old castle found in the village of Markusovce, the Markusovce Castle in Slovakia was built during the year 1248. It was erected as the seat pertaining to Mariassy and as that of a Franz Mariassy Renaissance fortress during the year 1643. It is also distanced by about 6 kilometers from that of city of Spisska Nova Ves. This castle donned the role of an efficient fortress until the year 1773, when the Markusovce Castle underwent renovation owing to destruction caused by fire, as it gained the representative character related to the Rococo residence.

The manor house that was built in the year 1643 now serves as the museum.
