The small village of Kraskovo is located in the southeastern part of Slovakia, about 15 km north of Rimavská Sobota.

Kraskovo’s most important attraction is its Lutheran church, which features on the Gothic Route – a tourist route introducing the most important Gothic monuments of the region.

Standing on a hill-side, encircled by a stone-wall, the church was originally built in the Romanesque style in the 13th century, and rebuilt in the 15th century.

Its 14th century wall paintings have survived to this day – the most noteworthy being a depiction of the Saint László legend.

Of its interior furnishings, it is worth inspecting the Renaissance style altar, the coffered-ceiling, the pulpit with its wooden carvings, and the painted, wooden choir.

The wooden bell-tower standing next to the church was built in the middle of the 17th century.
