Kezmarok castle

Situated in the heart of Kezmarok, the Kezmarok castle is the seat of the museum too. Kezmarok castle was raised as a defensive castle in the past, and the first links of this castle point to the Hungarian Zapolsky family. Acquired later by the Thokoly family, the Gothic fortress was converted into a luxurious Renaissance residence. The Baroque chapel was also built by them. Though burnt down on several occasions, it was rebuilt, and the most unique exposition is the strange machine which helped take first X-ray pictures in Ugria.
