Derese peak

As the third highest peak belonging to the Low Tatra range, the Dereše peak is spotted in the central Slovakian region. The Dereše peak takes its place on the way that exists between that of the highest mountains pertaining to this range, which are but the Chopok and Dumbier spotted in the eastern section and Chabanec that gets spotted in the western sections.

Located in a granite nucleus related to the Low Tatras Mountains, the southern slopes pertaining to the Dereše peak are relatively moderate as they get covered by granite rocks.

The northern slopes related to this peak are very steep, as they come along with the wild canals as well as walls, which in turn create a glacial valley. Standing atop the Dereše peak, a visitor is let into a virtual visual feast, as the beautiful views pertaining to Demanovska valley, Swift valley, the Skalka and the end portions of the Vajskovska valley is but a scenic delight.

Dereše enjoys popularity amid the alpine skiers, though it unveils risks through that of avalanches. Dereše is also a sought hiking destination, particularly from that of the nearby Chopok that gets accessed through the cable car. The scenic trail found on the top portions of Dereše peak is encircled by about hundreds of cairns.
