Demanovska Ice Cave

The ice cave of Demänovská Ice Cave is found in the Demanovska valley, which is a part of the Low Tatra region in Slovakia. The first mention of the cave dates back to the year 1299, as it is an oldest among the many known caves in Europe. This cave had got reopened for public view in the year 1952 after the wooden stairs was reconstructed and electrical lighting had got installed. The entrance of the Demänovská Ice Cave is spotted at the cliff Basta, which stands at an elevation of about 840 meters.

The Demänovská Ice Cave is distanced by about 10 kilometers from that of the city pertaining to Liptovsky Mikulas, as it also shares a close proximity with that of the skiing resort Jasna. The show path related to this ice cave is about 650 meters long, and the show path winds its way through river passages that have got interconnected by that of steep sections.
